Further to the government announcement yesterday around isolating vulnerable people and the general increased Coronavirus precautions we are instigating extra measures to keep our patients and staff safe.
As from Midnight on Wednesday 18 March 2020 ALL VISITING WILL BE STOPPED at The Raphael Hospital. Any exceptions will be agreed in advance by Lesley Crosby, Director of Infection and Control, and will only be in emergency situations. Between now and then restricted visiting from 2pm till 6pm will remain in place.
Patients will be able to access ipads and with assistance can skype relatives at home.
Security will now be on site 24 hours a day and as such the site will be locked down from the entrance on the driveway. They will not allow anybody access unless it has been agreed as above.
If you wish to collect washing this can be arranged and collected from the security guard but you will not be allowed on site.
I fully realise how distressing this will be for many of you and we will help you to maintain contact with your relatives as much as possible. These precautions have not been put into place lightly but we feel this is the only way we can protect our very vulnerable patients.
We will keep you updated regarding any changes and will support you as much as possible.
